Inspiration

Last Thursday when I was at the Skirt! After Work party, I picked up the latest issue of the magazine.  I usually devour the entire thing in one sitting, but this time around I could not even get past the cover.  It was completely inspiring and thus I wanted to share it in hopes that it will inspire others too.

Does your dream vacation include a string bikini or snake-proof hiking boots, room service or an off-road map?  Whether you hop on a Harley or hole up in a 4 star hotel, let yourself succumb to a Kerouac Attack this spring.  Blue highways run like veins across America's beautiful body.  Leave the hardened artery of the interstate, and follow your heart's desire.  Itinerary?  You live on a schedule of carpools, career movies, and weekend weed-whacking, so leave it behind for once.  Reservations?  No regrets or second thoughts.  Destination?  Follow the yellow line to the next roadside attraction...The Great Serpent Mount or Bust!  Detours?  Definitely.  Put your own stars on the map.  Make your car the capitol of Sea to Shining Sea, and move your boundary lines every day.  Change your state of mind one mile at a time.

I have had the good fortune to have taken some unforgettable road-trips, both domestically and internationally.  I love the freedom of being able to stop wherever I so choose.  Too often when taking trains, planes, and buses you pass by something that calls to you, but you must forgo it for the intended destination.  After reading those words above I believe it is time for me to grab my Chanel sunglasses, my red Prius, and my itouch for an adventure on the road and off.  Stay tuned to see where I choose.  I am thinking ocean, surfing, diving, sun...
