A Tribute To Friends
Last night I introduced two really important people in my life, Adrienne and Paul, together over dinner and drinks.
Adrienne, me, and Paul at M5 restaurant.
Of course, they hit it off after about 30 seconds of knowing each other and the three of us then had enlightening conversations inspired by delicious food and too much alcohol way into the night. Adrienne and Paul came into my life right around the same time and each touched my heart in different ways.
Paul entered my life first. I had just broken up with my ex-fiance and Paul was such a blessing! Since he is a bit older than me, he had a lot of wisdom to depart regarding love and relationships. He helped me to see that I would survive the pain and that ultimately it was the best thing that could have happened to me. He could not have been more right! But, that is a story for another time.
Paul and me after not seeing each other for 2 years.
Paul and I rarely get to see each other, since he resides on the West Coast. However, I know that no matter how long we go between speaking or seeing each other, we will forever remain friends due to his generous spirit and compassion. I am so happy that the wind blew him into my life when it did.
And then the wind blew Adrienne along. I was in a new city and most of my best girlfriends were states away. I needed some female company. I had seen her in some of my classes and yet we had never spoken to each other. Then one day I was making up a clinic shift and we got to talking. We made a date for a Soho brunch the following weekend and the rest is history! Now we are best friends, roommates, AND business partners; we are soul mates and then some.
Besties forever!
Life has an interesting way of providing you with people at the right time. I look forward to meeting all of the people the wind will blow into my life in the future, but in the meanwhile I am going cherish these 2 treasures.
