Review: Crepe Cellar

I left Manhattan, NY a year ago to return to my hometown of Charlotte, NC.  For the most part, I love my new life down South, although I really start to miss the Big Apple when it comes time to pick a restaurant to dine in.  Charlotte sadly lacks the unique cafes and bistros that Manhattan is saturated with.  Having said that, I decided to further explore the Queen City to find a possible hidden gem/s and I am happy to report that I was successful!

So, I have decided that in the future when I visit these establishments I will write a review about them.  Hopefully, that will help any Charlotteans or people who might be traveling to Charlotte with their gastronomic needs.

The 1st place I will review is the Crepe Cellar, which is located in NoDa.  NoDa is a funky art district near Uptown Charlotte that reminds me a lot of the East Village in Manhattan.

A view of NoDa at night.

This creperie does not accept reservations and is very small in size.  Thus, expect to wait up to an hour on a Friday or Saturday night for a table.  However, I promise you it is worth it!  Plus, they have a bar and after a drink or two an hour can go by pretty quickly.

Me and Stephanie enjoying some drinks during our wait for a table.

Joining me for dinner were 3 of my girlfriends.  Good conversation is a must have during dining and I knew it was a definite with them!

Warning: avoid this restaurant if you are on a diet.  There is simply no way to avoid the extra calories here and why should you, the food is divine!  Here was my delicious menu for the evening:

~2 glasses of Brut Rose Champagne
~Pesto Brie Hand Cut Fries
~4 Cheese
(Gruyere, Mozzarella, Cheddar, and Parmesan) Crepe
~Nutella & Banana Crepe

If you are looking for an intimate restaurant with a European touch look no further than the Crepe Cellar.  I cannot wait to return!  Next time I will try the Spinach, Wild Mushroom, and Goat Cheese Crepe.

Me fully satiated.

NYC is pretty much one and only when it comes to good dining experiences! Not many other cities can even hold a candle...
