2 of My Favorite Discoveries of the Week

1) While perusing the net a couple of days ago I came across a new type of high school for girls.   It is called the Traveling School (no joke!).  Why oh why, could I have not found this program a decade ago?  The Traveling School is a combination of education and adventure all over the world.  Each semester, a different syllabus awaits the 15 to 18 year-old budding globetrotters.  The program has them going to Southern Africa in the fall of 2009 and South America in the spring of 2010.

Students can get credit at their home high schools for the work they do abroad (Math = currency exchange and macroeconomics, PE = surfing and nutrition) and scholarships are available for those who qualify.  All I have to say is, bon voyage ladies!

2) Havaianas, otherwise known as my favorite flip-flops in the world, has created a new design that I am crazy about called Slim Indian (see picture below).  My love of elephants is borderline obsession, thus of course I had to purchase a pair.  I cannot wait to get them next week!  In the meantime, however, my next entry will be an ode to the magestic creature.
